Any specific areas that you might be able to share? We are heading over tomorrow to set up camp.

I know it was real bad and hard to breath during the muzzy season in Lick Creek. Some days the smoke was so thick you could not see 100 yards.

It was hazy and stinky throughout the region from the field burns as well its that time of year in rural america.....

I wish more places would burn their slash like they used to, makes it a lot easier to travel through the reprod.    A bonus is that you don't have to worry about standing near the campfire anymore.   :chuckle:

Yup, couldn't agree more. It's something you just have to deal with. I would MUCH rather deal with it during hunting season that have them attempt it in the summer during triple-digit heat, winds, and extremely dry conditions. I'll take the smoke rather and a blackened, destroyed wasteland.

The forest sure is nice and cleaned up over there though, I will say that. I guess I'd put up with it for 1 season seeing the results and the reduced fire risk.

I understand that they need to burn, but some of the areas they tried to burn did not go so well. The only thing that was burnin was stumps and live standing trees. It was really weird driving to go hunting in the morning in the dark, seeing all these little fires spread out everywhere; its just something that we were not used to seeing in the woods. I wish the logging companys would pile up their mess and burn it like they used to. Some of the logged areas are impossible for an animal or a human to get through with so much slash on the ground.
