Title: unsucessful firt trip back

last year went elk hunting after 7 years away in camp pendleton, guy that "took me" was from arizona and after 7 days all we saw was 100 other hunters many just lost.... im looking for a nudge in a general direction and am looking at going around hwy 12  but may head down to my dads house in battle ground i heard yacolt burn is pritty decent.... :dunno: im not looking for your scouted areas or honey holes just want to know a good area that tends to produce... really appreciate any help

also im looking at modern and maybe a late archery?

If you're looking at modern and possibly late archery, i'm assuming you have the multi-season tag?  Hunt the Winston with everyone else, there's more elk in that unit than anywhere else in the state.  Get a map and some good binos and take a few days and just drive and glass and hope like hell you're the first one to pull the trigger opening morning.  Good luck!

s there a specific spot in winston you can hunt i mean where is the hunting area in winston?
