Title: Blackie Down....
Post by: jamng on October 27, 2010, 09:59:08 PM: Took the boys out today and walked way to many miles for this old man....We found lots of Does but the bucks were not any were to be found.. We headed into a couple deep old timber canyons that we don't normally hunt and pushed this buck out.. I gave my son first shot but all he had was a head shot at close range and being his gun is 3 inch's high at a 100 shot over his head.. The buck turned to jump down a embankment and when he did it was all over in one trigger pull.... JAMNG

Just kinding! Nice blackie! Headed out for any evening hunt and would take that one in a heartbeat.

I shot him with a flash light rubberbanded to the end of my barrel well after hunting hours.. you see so many more deer when its dark out side...... HAHA... Actually I forgot to bring the camera and took the pic after we got home from the hunt...I'm off again to try and fill my boy's tags wish us luck... JAMNG

Post by: jamng on October 28, 2010, 05:31:05 PM: KimberRich, Yes you are right 3 inches at a 100 yard is high for the deer we hunt most our shots are under 100 yards some as close as 50 but we also hunt yotes on the other side of the mountains where most shots are 200 to 300 yards and I don't have the money to buy the ammo to re sight the guns every other weekend... Once the boys get over there buck fever and remember where there guns are shotting they will be fine... Doesn't seem to bother me.. HAHAHA
