I'm confused, I have been studying maps trying to find good locations to hunt on public land. I have the public use map, wash gazetteer and google earth. I can't understand when looking at the boundry of the national forest it looks like public but on the public land use map it will show as private. google earth will show buildings but show it as national forest. I'm confused, if it is within national forest land can it be concidered private?

I believe there are a few areas just like that. I don't know if there was some sort of grandfather clause or what. Private sorrounded by N.F.
