Figured I would start my posting with My First and Last Rabbit Kill on Base in Iraq since they changed the rules so no more pellet guns.
I had been watching 3 rabbits come out every night around 6:15 so one night I decided to wait on the back of a flatbed truck with my gun for them to come out. I had waited 30 min when I noticed something moving and he walked out at about 20 yards. Put the crosshairs on him and dropped him like a rock right behind the shoulder. Pretty Tastey on the BBQ
Gun: Walther .22 Caliber 1000FPS
Scope: 3x3-16 power
Pellet: RWS 14.5Gr Pointed

Cool picture. Looks like a good rabbit. Too bad you can't use pellet guns anymore, there! What now?

Just curious as to why they would ban the pellet gun.... Any ideas?

Same thing happened where i was at in Iraq. Couple of us take pellet guns and start killing these big pigeons/doves every evening. Having a lot of fun then BC and CSM put a stop to it. They said no firearm discharges inside compound. Go figure. So I had taken a blowgun with me and started using that. Not so easy...

Well heres the deal they have a BASH Program run by the airforce to kill any bird on base so they dont go into the engines. They have pellet guns ammo and you have to wear orange vests. I of course signed up, but instead of checking them out I bought my own and kept it at work with permission from the commander. Some new General decided that to many people werent following the rules for shooting and so he changed the General Order Number to say no guns, pellet or any other allowed unless Issued by the air force. Oh well I guess. I can still go check one of mine out that I turned in, but I rarely have a vehicle and it would take to long on the bus :-(
