Title: 30-06 or 7mm mag
Post by: shorthair15 on October 31, 2010, 07:17:39 PM
well today i looked at the tikka  t-3 ,model 70 winchester and a browning a-bolt. they all seemed like good rifles.  the browning seemed to be a good rifle for the price i particulary liked the detachable magazine. dont know much about browning. the sales guy did not know anything about the browning a-bolt or the tikka. this was at cabelas. so i will ask on here about the browning a bolt and the model 70 winchester. all ready got some info on the tikka. thanks

My brother has an A-Bolt in .270Win that is very accurate.  I've shot several deer with his rifle.  I think it is a great rifle and priced very well.  I'm a fan of the tang safety.

Model 70's are really good rifles too.  I have a M70 in 300 win mag.  I like the 3-position safety, but prefer the tang safety of the A-bolt......but that is just a personal preference issue.  (The X-bolt is the best of both worlds.......it has a 3-position safety like the M70 but it is on the tang.)
