Just got back from helping set up our camp! It was 70 degrees down there today. Saw 12 to 18 elk in a herd with 2 shooters in it, but we're going to have to really work to get at them.
-

Less than 24 hrs! Heading out this morning to the best place on earth! The "devils ridge" That's where you see elk all day but you wanna shoot your self for being the idiot for being on that ridge! Last year blowing 50 mph, lightning, raining sideways, and hail! I am in a lifted blue suburban! Say hey if you see us....

It might not always be public land that you're seeing those signs on. I have to put up brand new signs on my land almost every year because yahoos tear them down. My land abuts some corporate land, and a corporate road has an easement through a corner of my place.
I'm always amazed by the attitude of some people who come here from outside the area to hunt. I've had people say that it should all be open access out here in the "country" and there shouldn't be any place off limits to them. I'll bet that attitude would change if I showed up in their suburban neighborhood, parked an RV on their lawn, dumped my garbage all around and started shooting the squirrels out of their landscaping. I'm guessing that they would want to start exercising their private property rights pretty quickly!
Please, try and remember that those of us who live out here in the countryside have property rights, too, and if you don't tear down our signs and trespass every year, then we don't have to put up new signs all the time.... ;)
Happy Hunting!

Around here in the Southwest any legal bull is a good bull..good job..
-
congrats on the bull!
-
Got this one 4 minutes into opening day just north of Raymond!!!
-
Congrats to you
-
congrats on all your elk. One thing though. I know it is good to get pics of your animal before you tag it. But come on. Not smart when you start posting pics on the net, without a tag. :bdid:

So how do you now it hasnt been tagged? I never have a tag showing in my pic's, but that doesnt mean that it isnt tagged?!?!?!?!?
-
Way to go! Meat in the freezer.
-
Well my bad. I didn't see one tag in those photo's so either it isn't tagged or it's covered up. Just an observation.

I ALWAYS shove the tag so far in the ear you need a pair of needle nose to pull it out so in my opinion nearly all the animals pictured on this site could be legally tagged

Dude, if you tag it you only get one elk. Think about it... Sounds like he has 3 more "tags" to go!
-
Great bulls. Hope you get those other tags filled.
-
I think he means 3 more in his party
-
everybody loves raymond :chuckle:
-
tru I do mean three more tags to go, thats how many were in our party! I love tha drama this site creates, anyone else get a bull yet?
-
Drama for sure, Congrats on a vary nice bull and I could give 2 sh$%s if it's tagged or not. Wtf some people are just stupid and need to keep there observations to themselves. Really who the hell would not tag this bull big deal if it's before or after the photo. I know what the regs say but don't ruin the moment. Once again congratulations on a fine bull!!!!!
-
Congrats on the bull dude..As for the tag thing, if I have to pack or drag an animal out, I'll cut it, and put it in my pocket and tag it when I don't feel it will get lost in the brush..Congrats again..Oh yeah,,I screwed mine off :bash:
