Why doesn't the WDFW harvest report illustrate deer harvest by specie? You would think for GMU's on the eastside that the reports would require reporting by specie. When estimating deer numbers you usually use spotlight surveys along with harvest data to determine how a population is doing. If Mule Deer and Whitetail deer which respond to harvest and environmental factors differently are being managed as one population, doesn't this seem screwy. Not to mention a lack of transparency in the harvest report regarding which species are being harvested in which units.

that system is very decieving in numbers, if one thinks they can look at that for harvest and get an accurate reading think again, lots of people dont truthfully report that they killed an elk or a deer in the region they hunted.Take huckleberry elk thats a funny one to read :chuckle:
