This is a pic of my daughters bull taken at 330 yards with the .280 my dad built for her. She and her husband did a great job of locating the bull and completing the hunt. Wish I could have been there. Not the biggest bull, but typical for the unit. It was her first bull, and now she is hooked on bulls.

Looks like a old bull, nice one :)

i would like to know more about the rifle... what action? what wood? barrel maker? etc?
NICE bull!
-
The action Husky/mauser, Douglas I think, English Walnut, 3.5-10 VariX 3 Leupold. 162gr Hornady. All metal work and wood by my Dad. Metal work, bases and rings, trigger bow and floorplate release, chambered and barrell taper.
Basically he starts with the action and does all the rest. A true custom rifle. Wood from a duplicater roughed out, inletted, bedded finished and checkered. Wish I had some of his talents.

You can Goggle Herman Waldron Custom Metalsmith to see some of his work. He went fulltime in the 80's and turned in his FFL in 2005. He is 77 years old, known nationally for his metal work and a charter member of the Custom Gun Makers Guild. Honored in 2008 as lifetime. Has been doing this work since the 60's. His accomplishments go on and on.
Yesterday marked the 3rd week since his brain surgery where a malignant tumor was found, he started radiation on Monday. Determined to get through this.
In his shop he was working on a .280 for himself, he has had a piece of wood put away for years for this job for himself.
He sanded off the checkering twice because of a line that was not right. We hope he can get back his sight well enough to complete this job and use this fine piece.

I hope and pray for a full recovery for him.

WIDE! you're going need a big room to hange that pig

Nice Bull.
Amazing work on the rifle. Life's to short to hunt with an ugly rifle in my opinion.
Love the .280 also. It's a round that doesn't get a lot of press.
