Title: question
Post by: highmuley on November 03, 2010, 08:49:25 PM
A friend of mine got a ticket for a fishing violation. They have yet to pay the fine. Can they still purchase a fishing license? What do you think?

O.K. this is just my take on this but if you dont pay the fine in i believe 30 days. The fish & game dept. will put a hold on you obtaining a license until your fine is paid. Maybe someone on here knows more. You can check By calling the dept. to see.. :twocents:

Yes he can buy a fishing license. the state doesnt turn down money. but they will put him in collections and/or suspend his DL. pretty much the same as a traffic ticket.

Actually, if he has not paid the infraction in 30 days, the judge issues a bench warrant for his arrest in that county. This "failure to appear" can get him arrested.

Have your buddy call the court and make payment arrangements, even late..... This will be entered as a "Bail Forfeiture" and will resolve the issue, the FTA will go bye bye...

Tell him to "man up" and  pay the damned fine before he even thinks about getting a license.
