Hey me and my buddies are heading over to the potholes the weekend of the 12th. We usually hunt up in the spillways. Anyone been hunting over there this year with any luck?

Just get out in the dunes and set up. Always a good sprinkling of new northern birds in and around Veterans Day the 11th. One of the better periods to hunt in my opinion, as the crowds don't pick up on northern arrivals till around Thanksgiving.
If you don't believe me....go back and check the last year or two on a few posts about waterfowl hunting in the Moses Lake/Potholes area. You can count on it. :twocents:

Seen a few different forecasts- a few are calling for weather in the teens that weekend- might make it interesting. Dress warm.

Thanks for the advice. My hunting buds and I usually head over there closer to Thanksgiving and always have an awesome duck hunt. This year we have to make the trip a little earlier. I'm just praying the cold weather will push the northerns down to us for some good greenhead shooting. I have heard other hunters talk about woodies over at the potholes and I have never seen any. Is there any truth to this? I would love to get one.

As I said above.........you'll be into a good sprinkling of northerns in and around Veterans Day. You can almost set you're clock by it.
