I wonder how many folks would pull the trigger without confirming that third point. Another buck re-visited. He was a bit bigger last year. He had a little more mass and was a little wider.

I've seen a couple like that in the Methow, without eye guards. Probably died of old age as a huge 2 point. I tried real hard to put a third point on both of them. I thought a real wide, heavy 2 point would look cool on the wall. I saw another one like that in the Paseyton a few years ago, too.

He is pretty smart using that doe as a shield. :chuckle:
Once he was in the clear, BANG, freezer full.

About 3 years ago I seen a big 2 point just like this one out by wilbur on my bro-in-laws property. I sat there trying to grow a 3rd point it for nearly 2o minutes. It never did grow. Nice pics!!!
-
My son and I watched one like that south of Twisp for nearly 20 minutes. Skylighted. Not even a bump of an eye guard....
Boy was he big.... :bash:

I've seen two big huge bodied 2 points but they did not have eyeguards. This one at least can be taken out of the gene pool, the ones I saw are still in the gene pool. Shoot him!
-
i dont mind those big 2pts being in the pool. if i had a permit i would take one in a heart beat. theres just something about a giant 2pt
-
Well when my dad and I draw a permit I will surely let my dad shoot it! He would love that big 2!
-
I almost wish I had used my permit on a big two. I think I came to the conclusion if I could have closed the gap and got a shot withthe bow I would have.
-
With the eye guards, I'd pull the trigger, would just be a bonus that he had a third. But thats me, I want the meat, dont care about a trophy.

a big mature 2pt is just as much of a trophy to me as a big 5x5. as a big 2pt you have to be lucky enough to make it through all the "big rack shoot first, must be legal to have that big of a rack" type of hunters.
takes alot of get big weather its a 2pt or a 5x5 and stay alive these days with the odds stacked against them.

Nice pic's. Nice buck as well.
-
I have said it before-I LOVE BIG TWO POINTS :o
-
We have seen many of these on our place too. When the rules select for these guys, even if the heritability is low (it is not), the change is fast. Kind of like a tall narrow whitetail, I like these guys, but natural selection it is not.
-
I call those gun rack bucks as they make a perfect gun rack....
Nice buck by ANY standard!
-
Dang, that eyeguard is tough to see in your pic, let alone see in the field. To answer your question though, probably too many people would pull the trigger...
-
I passed on a buck just like that up in grayback on oct 22nd just wasnt positive he was 1 inch on the eyeguard.. He was huge and very heavy. I watched him for about 20 minutes before shooting the definite legal 3point standing next to him...
