Title: Turkeys must know it's an early winter
Post by: baldopepper on November 08, 2010, 07:41:21 AM: Just returned from a "mess around" trip to my cabin in unit 121-I've never seen the birds so bunched up this early. I saw several flocks of well over 100 birds and one group in a traditional late winter area of well over 300!! I'm kinda thinking maybe they are anticipating an early, hard winter. Hope I'm wrong, but I don't have any other explanation. Late hunt should be more of a harvest than a hunt.

A bad winter however, will do a number on the whitetails that have making a comeback after the severe winters in the recent past. :bash:
