Post by: turkey slayer on November 09, 2010, 09:20:20 PM
Well a buddy of mine that work with went and checked the camera that we had set over are  apples pile on privet property today. The camera was there but the sim was gone >:( >:(. I don't think someone wanted there pics taken. The was bear sign and buck tracks all around the pile. Wish we could of seen what was on it.

Who else has this happen to.

Sucks but at least you have your camera!  Pull it out of there before they come back for it.

I have a buddy who set up a cam over an apple pile this spring and I went to check the cam for him one day and the sim card was gone.  Not too sure why they wanted just the card and not the camera.  I hate thieves  >:(

It really doesn't make any sense to just take the card, but like it has been said already, at least the camera was still there, a sim card is a lot cheaper than a camera to replace!

Have you considered getting or making a security box that can be locked so the card cannot be accessed?  Also helps slow down potential thieves who stumble across it.   That is what I plan on doing for mine before I put them out again.

Not only a thief, but a trespassing thief!    >:(

My trailcams are always in welded boxes.  It keeps the honest people honest, but if a thief wants it bad enough they'll figure out how to steal it.
