Processing meat, making jerky and sausage today so will post more pics later with a story.

Post by: ribka on November 12, 2010, 07:07:45 PM: Another view. I think he was 8-9 years old based upon his teeth. Really worn down. Also think the antler growth regressed a bit because of his age. Probably a really nice buck 2-3 years ago.

He really smelled from the rut and I ended up making sausage and jerky from him. He died chasing a hot doe. I guess there is no better way to go :chuckle:

We did some scouting before hand with maps and we had a local farmer out there help us out and point out general areas.
Would really help to get out and scout as there is a lot of country, private land, BLM, block management etc

Drove up to the whitetail to retrieve. Near some coulees.

I'm shooting whitetails from now on, especially since I am getting older. Mule deer are too much work :chuckle:
