Well really hoping to get into some elk (of course) ... gonna leave from tacoma fri. night maybe early sat . morn...    thought about trying back side of riffe... east end....   have a bike so and some fresh boots.. and ideas or tips... pms work too..... thanks!!!!

You're on the right track. Bike in behind the gates as far as you're willing then start burning up the boot leather. Good optics help, too.  The elk get bumped all over because of the insane amount of pressure in the area.  There's no substitute for time in the woods.

what im hoping is their wont be a bunch of timber employees back there with vehicles etc.

what side of the lake you talking about? the north or south? the weyerhauser gates on the south side are open, and the north side that is gated, is mostly ORM land, that is posted no trespassing.

Go and hunt on JStamp's hacienda above the lake.  He has a couple of bulls staked out in his yard.

prob on the south side...east end of the lake...  although the area closed is that along hwy 12.. ? ive seen people behind alot of the gates ....   but gonnna try just past taidnapam... i think thats how its spelled....

just a few. i'm growing them til they get to that 300 inch mark, then they are fair game.  :chuckle:
