Title: The Countdown
Post by: Mr T on November 13, 2010, 08:07:04 AM
Anybody else counting down?  17 days and counting until I get out there to chase down an elk.   Beginning to look colder and colder in the NE corner

He's not hunting easton, he's scared he'll have to work to get an elk, thats why he's waiting to see what i get on the trail camera.

this will help get the blood pumping and make the countdown seem that much longer lol i retrieved the trail cam and here's a tase of whats in a "300's" unit.

i know the bull isn't huge, but give him, two or three years, about the time i get drawn for the unit and he will be decent then, as long as he's around......

i have heard, but haven't seen, so i can't confirm but there is a 6x7 running around there as well, again only a draw, but it's worth the wait  :o

Do you think it still looks like that there or do you think there is a pretty white blanket all over?

The heck with waiting for that one to grow old.  If I ever get a chance at one like that it will be in serious trouble.  Good luck guys.

HA HA don't get me wrong if i had the bull tag for that unit i would not second guess taking him, would i like some monster bull who thinks he's king of the woods, yeah, will i take a nice looking 4x3? oh yeah, but by the time i get drawn ( fingers crossed if i ever do) for that unit hopefully he is still around and put on some size to that rack.

on top of that if i can get good pics of him and find out if he is a resident bull having some history with him would be absolutely awesome, but thats how hunting goes, he may not be around next year, i'm praying he is, and/or for the following one!!!!!!!

Glad to see there is some elk in the 300's for late archery.  Thanks for the photos.  It is fun to see elk whether on here or in the field.

Here you go trav, i heard this is running around up there, right in that field where that ONE turkey came in the last night of our hunt, you know the one you scared off?

Just to clarify this is not a pic i took, i found it on the net.

But i wish i did.

Travis we have hijacked your forum and it is now about the 300's units. By the way its snowing down here in Buckley I would have to assume there is about 13,000 feet of snow up there by now. I cant wait to shoot that cow that is standing on my blind
