Title: Feel Freel to Hunt in GMU 162
Post by: tikkahunter on November 14, 2010, 08:45:34 PM
My brother and I both drew late 2nd doe tags in 162.  I filled mine on friday. My brother still needs to fill his and it would be his first deer too.  We were hunting on some feel free land off Patit road but its getting hit really hard by bird hunters pushing most of the deer out. We also tried the Rainwater Wildlife Area but didn't see much sign up there. The Go Hunt application on the WDFW didn't help.  I was wondering if anyone knew of any places?  Thank you

Try something different and hunt the western boundary along Jasper Mt Rd.  There is a bunch of ffth ground up on top, just make sure you hunt the east side of the road only.  You'll be hunting the western ridge of the South Touchet drainage and there are a lot of deer that run up there.

If not there, Cougar Canyon, Skyline Rd, Maloney Mtn...
