Title: Waterfowl Season clarification
Post by: Tman on November 18, 2010, 07:58:51 PM
New to hunting waterfowl. Bought the licenses/stamp today. Got permission to hunt a private pond and creek covered with ducks/geese.

Reading the regs, it appears that ducks/geese may be hunted 7 days a week in zone 5.  Is this correct?

What is the best shot size to use that could kill both species quickly with close range shooting, 20-30 yd range?

I shoot 3 1/2 bb for geese and 2 3/4 #2 for ducks. But most of the time I just shoot 3 1/2 # 2 shot for everything it seems to be the best load all around for both

At 20-30 yards 3" #2's will work just fine for both.
