Some relatives in Carson, WA in 1950 . I assume these were Klickitat bucks though I know hunters in those days used to drive all the way over to the Blues on occasion.

Cool pic!

That is a cool pic. The buck on the left looks like a brute.
-
Love the old pics

With the length of those eye guards ( is there three? ) I'm thinking its a benchleg buck out of Klickitat. Not sure if the Muleys in the Blues have eye guards that long.

Hunters those days knew if it had a red hat or checkered shirt it wasn't a buck, didn't have to be wrapped in florescent orange.

cool pic. Is that a cinder block on that guys shoulders or is it his head. Looks like a strong SOB.
-
Which guy? The guy sitting in the middle and the guy standing on the left both look like they could just pick the deer up and walk off with it. That was before smoking was bad for you...

Great picture, I love looking at pictures from the "good ol days" Thanks for sharing

I love how pics from back then always had the deer strapped across hot car hoods. Never seemed to worry about getting the meat cool. I'll try to scan and post some of my Great Grandpa and Grandpa.... classics.

Very cool and very true

Notice the old metal tags, looks like they have the round locking nob before they went to the flat metal locking system. Does anybody know what year they changed? Is there anybody besides me that hunted with the old round ones?

Before my time - but we used the same tags on beaver pelts if I recall in the late 70's.

That's interesting, I'm sure they changed to the flat metal for deer like in the mid to late 50s.
