Just my normal everyday luck, my step son and I were loading up the pickup as it was just getting daylight, it was 5 below so we were moving kinda slow, guns were in the truck, walked out the door with our lunches and 9 elk ran through the front field about 80-100 yds. from us and there we stood with ham samiches. Went up the road a couple miles and the diesel gelled up. So that was opening day for us. :( :(

Damn the bad luck, better luck next time.. You always have to be prepared... Stay focused.. :twocents:
-
dang that sucks :bash: those elk kinda know whats going on :chuckle:
-
hell ya they knew what was up, we have state land in front of us and they were either shot at or jumped but they ran by us like they were going to last supper.
-
yeah i bet the got bumped, if they were running like that at first light. Did you see what all the group was? like cows with calves maybe a bull :dunno: i heard of a big 6 over there that has one of his points broke off. so he is a 5x6, he is supposed to be a real stud  have you heard of him yet?
-
No sir I have notheard of him yet, the group was mostly cows, one pretty small calf and the boy had the best look at them and said one was a branched bull but pretty small.
