Title: Cold tail
Post by: Malardman on December 01, 2010, 05:45:52 PM
I'm getting so sick of this, first time hunting ducks was crappy, so we started shooting Bufflehead for the dog cause he was bored shot like 35-40 of'em on the river and he got cold tail, now I take him training cause he is 10lbs over weight says the vet, so I do water retreives cause swimming is the best excercise, now he got it again WTF!!!! the vet says it can happen from overworking the tail muscle and once they've had it they are prone to it. He looks so sore, he lays on his back and his tail points to the ceiling.

Just like people, they need to get in shape prior to the season. 35-40 retrieves in water when he hasn't had much leading up to that is a lot of work....
