I was wondering if anyone on here has been up Jasper Mountain road in the last couple of days? I am trying to get up into the area near the intersection of Bundy Hollow and Jasper Mountain Road. Bundy Hollow had a pretty good drift that no one (including me tried to get through). I'm in a Ford F150 4x4, but with only all terrain tires, so I can't go through too much snow and I'm really hesitant to chain up just to get myself into a worse location if you know what I mean. I've been trying on some private ground down lower, but the doe numbers seem pretty low and the bucks seem to have gone through them in a hurry and mostly moved on. I've seen at least one legal buck every day, but not close enough. I'm back home maybe for good, but I can't seem to get this tag out of my mind as the bucks I have seen have been pretty nice. Anyone have any information for me? Thanks.

You might be able to get there from the N. Coppei Rd. But it usually is drifted in toward the top also. All the other ridge top roads are more than likely drifted shut for the average vehicle. Hope this helps.

:yeah: great info there! let some air out of your tires ;) carry a air small air comp. and you will be amazed where you find yourself, especially when the snow is wet ;)

I spent the first ten days of the season up on jasper till I tagged out on ekler. You can still cover the tops of canright, bundy, whiskey creek, wilson hollow and n. coppei in a daily driver as of yesterday. I didn't go up today. If you've been up there much you've probably seen me up there in my camo flatbed toyota. Good luck and hope you get a monster. I saw 43 legal bucks before I shot an old mature 3 on the beam at 20 yds. Don't give up on the tag yet. You may also want to give Dustin Hollow a look see.

Hey
I just came back and saw your post redneck buddy! Thanks for the ride today! I couldn't get that buck we saw to respond to rattling or grunts, so I started following his trail. The snow had lost some of it's crunch since this morning and I managed to walk up to about 80 yards of him in an open area. Somehow I managed to shoot just a bit low and missed him. He was a nice 4 point with eyeguards too! I followed him for a while longer to make sure I'd missed completely and finally lost his track when he met up with a few others. I was feeling pretty bad, so I decided to come home today and have my tag soup early.
I'll have to check back with you and see if you find any cat tracks and how your friends do with the late elk. Thanks again.

That's too bad you didn't catch up to that buck Dave, don't give up yet. I spend at least one day every weekend up there so if I cut fresh cat tracks I'll be following them. Nice meeting you yesterday.
