My daughter got her first pheasant last weekend. I couldn't believe it the first time she shot at a bird she folds this nice rooster. It was great getting her and the dog out together I'm really looking forward to next season.

Thats great! what a great picture :IBCOOL:

You must be one proud daddy, I was when my daughter killed her first deer.
-
Fun! Great pics.
-
Looks like you willl have some future competition on your hunts. Way to get her involved and thanks for posting the pics

I sure am she has gotten her deer the last two years. I love it when she hunts with me there is nothing more gratifying for a dad than to share that with their kids. I get way more excited when she gets an animal than when I shoot one.

Spoken like a proud Dad

That's great! Is that a mossberg 935? and did you guys hunt one of the local release sites?
-
Yes we hunted the new Ebey Island release sight. The gun is a youth tri star viper G2 in 20 gauge. I shot a few pheasants this year with her gun it is a pretty nice little gun.

Nice. Where did you get that vest for the dog and what kind is it?
-
Very nice hunt. Great job to both of you. John

Ellensburg I got the vest online at www.gundogsupply.com/mendota-dog-field-jacket-camo.html (http://www.gundogsupply.com/mendota-dog-field-jacket-camo.html).
It works well for her when it's not super wet it keeps her pretty warm and she still has good mobility.

And what about when it gets wet? Does it still offer some warmth or does it make things worse? I don't have a real problem with the cold, its more of the barb wire, thorns that I deal with.

I've had her out in the rain in it and it seems to keep her pretty dry and warm. The only thing is it doesn't offer much protection for her belly.

Glad to see you involving your daughter in the outdoors and tell her congratulations on her first bird.
I cant wait to be able to take my twin boys out when they can actually use a real gun to get some rabbits and quail. As they enjoy so much shoothing them with their toy guns.
