Dont hear mention of this cartidge very often. My dad picked one up when I was probably 10. His has the barrel cut to 16 inches as it was a dedicated bear/hound hunting gun, where most of our shots are from 2 feet to maybe 30 yards. This little cartridge performed real well with that duty! I saw a lot of bears go to heaven after hearing the Big Bore Boom.... :chuckle:
I always wanted a 444 to do the same job, but since they banned the hounds and ran us out of the state.... I never did get one.

I've shot the 444 but never the .375. That would be an excellent use for that gun. What did we bust that bear with in the Nile? I can't remember if that was my 30-30 or a gun you were packing.

I love the 375 big bore I usually fill one of my extra doe fawn tags with it. My step dad has a 444 marlin and the 375 seems like he rotated them every weekend when we would go sit on our bear baits. Here is my Winchester 94 in a 375.

Either your or my 30-30 I suspect Doug... been a while ago....

I've shot a Savage 99 in 375W it was my still hunting rifle in the northern MN swamps. Loved the 250gr loading, wish Win hadn't dropped it.
