Too late for trail cams and this topic should not be in the trail cam section

Dress warm, it gets butt ass cold up there this time of year. I only hunt up there once in a while so I can't give you much more than that.
-
its cold there! :cmp1:

Bring tires chains, shovel etc. in case you get stuck in the snow. The roads around Republic are almost, almost snowed in. What part of that area are you going to be hunting ? Which unit 101 or 204 ?
-
101 and i know that there is a mine on the same road that the property is on that is about it!

You'll be hunting near Curlew then. The mine is up Marias Creek, which is the 204 unit on that side. It's about 18-20 miles west of Curlew. I was just up near there coyote hunting and didn't see any deer. Doesn't mean they're not there. Find out if you'll be hunting where the little cabins are almost directly across from Marias Creek. That's the 101 unit. Or, who owns the property. Maybe I know them.

h could be talking about the kinross mill up fish hatchery too.

Never thought of that since we call that the " mill ". It's hard to know unless he's more specific. That area is good because it's close to the bars....hahaha!!!

OK. I know where that's at. Yes, you might have good luck there because it's private property. You might even get lucky and plug a Bobcat.
Good luck and send pictures. Don't know them, but might if I saw them in person. That's 20 miles from my house.

Yep i have hunted that country a few times. It's a shame you can't shoot in town cause thats where you will find the largest number of deer in the hunting season. Good luck to you anyway. It is a quiet place to live.

Most of the deer in Republic hang out by the Hospital.... :bash:

No kidding! It is funny to watch hunters gassing up at the Chevron as a nice 4 point mulie walks right between the diesel and gas pumps during the rifle season. I watched one guy (looked like he had a few beers in him) grab his rifle and chase after a buck all the way to the fire station hoping to (I guess) to follow him to the woods where he could shoot him. He was stopped and given a talking to by the guys in the fire station. :chuckle:

ya any good place to hunt i have ever been to you can see deer from almost anywhere and most of them are where you cant shoot but there are a few of us with sand enough to find the non welfare blue collar buck out in the backwoods!
