Title: Shoe muffs
Post by: Bean Counter on December 09, 2010, 03:48:36 PM
Hey guys,
Tomorrow is the fall archery opener in Arizona for most of the OTC units. Runs from 11 Dec - End of January  :yike:  The ground is really, really hard, dry and loud here. Thinking of any of those shoe muff things that a store sells. One shop is going out of business and has some for $15/pair but he's only got smaller sizes left so they may not cover 100% of my boot bottom. Sound like a good idea?

Thanks.

When I was in SoCal some of the guys used them for thier SoCal and AZ hunts.  I have no experience with them.  Some guys would stalk to a point and then ditch their boots and finish the stalk in socks.  Others used the ones that look like the big fuzzy bear slippers and some used the felt sole looking ones.  I think the consensus was to find a stalking boot, similar to the Rocky (I forget the model).  Some of the problems the guys ran into was cactus stickers, rocks, and burrs.
