Title: Mica peak elk
Post by: jmed795 on December 13, 2010, 03:10:35 PM
Hey all I have a master hunter tag for any elk on Mica and I am having trouble finding the herds, has anyone seen them or any other info would help.  I have tried the DNR land off of Star road and the DNR land off of Belmont and nothing.  I think in four days I have seen maybe two sets of fresh tracks.

Thanks

Last week there was a heard that I presume came off of Mt. Spokane that were hanging down around the stateline rd by the east valley school building out there.  Although this is on the north side of I-90 so may not count for you.
I have got into the mica heard just east of liberty lake before the state line as well but that is mostly if not all private property up that valley, but they hunt them.

don't waste your time this year. the 5 feet of snow sent them to winter range.....they are not likely gonna be back this year.
