Anybody have any experience with the EOTec scopes?  I have a Springfeild Socom 16 I was thinking about putting one on.

There is a magnifying lens that you can mount on a picatinny in front or the EOTec.  Think it is like 3x.  It rotates in and out so you can switch back to normal view.

Excellent red-dot scopes, theyre on par with aimpoint and probably tops in their market

Hoffa = correct, they make magnifiers in 3x, 5x, 7x that have a flip-to-side feature (linkage (http://www.opticsplanet.net/eotech-gen-3-magnifier-with-flip-to-side-mount-g23-fts.html)). The EOtech brand magnifiers are pretty expensive, but other companies make similar models for far less (Mako is one of them I believe)

Should work out very well on your Socom

Yes.  I have an EOTech and an ACOG on.....

Both are great and I use them several times a month.  My EOTech has lost battery power at very inopportune times; but with an iron sight backup it's no biggie. ;)

My groups are about the same with holographic optics or with iron sights at distances up to 150 yards , anything under 25 yards my iron sights have a tighter group.

You've got a great tool with that Springfield Socom, good luck, have fun, and be safe.
