Iam loading some 168 Barnes TTSX,this is only bullet i will be using, would like powder recomendatios.Iam thinking of RETUMBO,H1000,R22. Would like chronographed velocities if possible.

I've used 165 gr loads for the RUM with RETUMBO. I was later told that for the RETUMBO to actually do what it was designed to do that it likes heavier bullets...starting around 180 gr. Others may have better experience with that powder. It worked for me, just didn't quite push it where I was hoping. Good Luck.

I loaded 168gr. TSX's with RL-22, IMR-7828, and H-1000.
I worked will all three powders until I was getting pressure signs, trying to get 3500fps, 3400fps was tops.
My rifle shoots the 200gr partision, 200gr accubond, and the 208gr A-max well under MOA but I never found a real good load with the 168gr TSX, I shot up 3 box's of the tsx's durring load workup and gave up.
I never planed on hunting with that light of a bullet out of my RUM, just playing around.

I think the rifle actually shoots the 180 grain a bit better. :twocents: I shoot 180 grain swift scirocco with 91.5 grains of reloader 22. It seemed to pattern best at that powder level and is about 3400 fps.

I am shooting the 168 berger VLD in my 300 RUM. Sorry I don't have the velocities with me. 96 grains of H1000. I had better luck with accuracy with the H1000 than Retumbo, but will be trying Retumbo again this winter and spring with some heavier bullets.

Iam going to start withR22 then go to H1000 probably won't happen till spring, found some 180gr going to try also, didn't know i had them look like nosler seconds.

7828 flat shoots in my 2 ultras. 8700 was another that does well.....sadly discontinued.
