How much weight did that take out of the rifle? It looks good btw.
-
just shy of 2 lbs.
-
What did you do?
-
for us un-knowing ones, can you explain what happened there?
Pro's and con's of doing it??
-
I took the barrel from a target taper, which was a constant taper from the 1.20 shank to .95 at the muzzle. the new taper is 2 lbs lighter and starts at the shank and tapers similar to a magnum sporter rem 700 300barrel. way lighter. the down side is potentially reduced accuracy. I saw no change to speak of....course I am using a 2-7 heavy plex scope.....but it is still doing sub moa so I am tickled.

mel doyle did it for me. I have since mounted one of the 3-9x40 4200's and went on to rip the best group of my life with it.
