Seen a couple of post about "What camera" well I got my girlfriend a Kodak Z710 and liked it well enough that I got myself the Z812 which is 12 power optical instead of 10 and has 8MP instead of 7 (can't tell a lot of difference in picture quaility unless you want large prints) It won't fit in a shirt pocket but will in a coat pocket and don't weigh much. Most controls are easy to use without fumbling around alot. Here's a few shots I've gotten with mine.

How about an inbound goose????? :IBCOOL:

I'm still tryin to learn the Macros close up stuff but buttercups
-
An even though I've been called mule headed which might be true :P seems like a pretty good camera for around 200 bucks
-
Love the first pic. Christmas tree hunting ;)
-
Really like the horse one. Looks good to me.

Sweet!!! ;)

Broke my old Nikon and sent it in to get fixed. DHL lost the camera so I 've been looking for a new one. Just bought the Z812 off ebay today. Cant wait till it arrives.
-
Side note. Looking for a 200-400mm lens for my old Nikon F1. I'll post that in the class. forum too.
Thanks

You talking about the new VR 200-400 Nikon? Those are 5k...for an old F1...
-
No. Looking for used glass. Would like a zoom, but would settle for a fixed 400.

FWIW, Target has the Z712 on sale right now for $229 and you get a FREE $50 gift card along with the purchase...so in the long run, it's $179.
It's the same as the Z812 referred to above, but 7.1mp instead of 8.1....not big deal, as you can still get 30" prints from a 7.1mp camera.
It has some great features for those wanting good pictures, without the hassle and expense of some high end equipment...
One feature worth noting is it's "Panorama" setting where it guides you through taking three pictures, then automatically "stitches" them together to make a seamless, HUGE, panoramic picture. Great for nature shots.
Lots of adjustability, easy to use, and pretty quick for a point and shoot. Image stabilization works well, too.

BSC that's a good deal and you can take that 50 bucks and get better batteries. I think it comes with a non rechargeable but i found some place on the web where you can get better ones. I did buy the AA rechageables but am not happy with them so i upgraded to a better li Ion rechargeable and charger.
Yes it dose have the panorama which I've only plyed with a little but here's a couple first on is three shots stiched together
-
This one is two shots stiched

I will only use Energizer Nickel Metal Halyde batteries in my digi's now. They just work too well.
For about $18 you get 4 batteries and a charger...extra 4 batteries run about $6 on sale if you look around.
All the ones I'm running are 2,500 MAH...and you can get even better than that. I take a LOT of pictures, and usually 1 pair will last an entire day. With the quick charger, it only takes 15 minutes to charge four. The slow charger takes a few hours, but doesn't wear out the batteries.
Great panorama, BTW.
Camera's sure have come a LONG ways in the last couple years (even the cheap ones!).

Man, I feel stupid. The last post, the words were correct, but the pic should have been under Upland birds. Don't know how I messed it up. Sorry to mess with your thread LOVEMYLABXS. Regardless, my KODAK should be here on the 28th. Can't wait to check it out. BTW $230 for the Z812, with case, tripod, a 4gb chip and shipping included. Thanks for turning me on to the camera LOVEMYLABXS.

Not a problem chukar about the thread glad i was able to help out and it sounds like you got a better deal then I did on mine but it is a good little camera. I had to send mine in for a repair on the wheel/knob that adjust the PASM setting (acted like a stripped gear sort of) but they got it fixed underwarrenty and should be back in my hands in a couple of days. :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:

LABXS- it was laying on a rock out in the Quilomene, must have been pretty cold still, cause he was very lethargic.
