Title: Montana Archery tag
Post by: deerslyr on December 25, 2010, 01:40:11 PM
My brother just got stationed in billings with a Marine detachment so I plan on doing some hunting there this fall. I know for rifle that you have to put in a draw if your a non-resident but I wasnt sure if archery was the same or if it was OTC. I know that the applications are due march 15 so im trying to figure out if I need to put in and what I need to put in for any advice appreciated  ;)

Still a draw permit for non-residents.  You don't have to "choose" your weapon for the initial drawing.  If/when you get drawn and you want to hunt archery season, you can buy the archery stamp an numerous sporting goods stores in MT if you show them an out of state archery license or tag.  The Montana Fish & Wildlife website explains it all in their regs.
