Returned from our Arizona late hunt with just one bull to show. Not quite the 380 bull we were after but after chasing the big boys around for a few days decided to fill my tag with this guy.
-
Congrats! Nice bull!
-
awesome bull
-
Nice bull. Way to get it done!
-
Very nice bull!! Was that a strip bull?
-
Nice elk dude.
-
nice bull, what unit
-
I think I remember him posting that it was a unit 10 late tag. But I might be wrong. If it is unit 10 I might have a question or two for you. I have 7pts and have been thinking about apply for unit 10.
-
Nothing wrong with that bull! Thanks for sharing
-
I agree that is a great bull. Congrats on a good bull and memories that will last a life time.
-
Ya it was a unit 10 late hunt. The roads are absolutley terrible, which makes it hard to get around. We still should have went 3 for 3 or at least 2 for 3. By the time we figured it out it was over. The last evening of the hunt I had my dad, hunting partner and a 340-350 bull all in my binos. They were all within 150 yards of one another and they could never see him. Pretty frustrating.

Nice bull. Congrats.
-
Can't complain about that. Well done and congrats. What area?
-
Well that's a Hell of a bull to HAVE to settle for. Congrats
-
nice bull

Nice bull.
-
Did you see a lot of elk? And what about people? Don't they give out like 500 tags?
-
Shooter,
We would see anywhere from 3 to 8 bulls every morning and evening, we just couldn't get on them before they would bed down. Once they were bedded that was it until evening. Those elk are on a definite time schedule. As far as people, there were only a few camps in our area and nobody hunting the bulls we were after. That unit is HUGE and the roads are so bad you basically have to pick an area and stick with it. Our camp was 3 miles from where we were hunting and it took us an hour and fifteen to get there. It was our second time there so we did have some kind of an idea where we would hunt but that was 7 years ago.

Oh yea! Better than tag soup
-
Looks like a trophy through these eyes! Congrats!

Congrats on a good bull. Arizona is very hard to draw. I am still waiting to draw. This is me every year when I dont draw :bash:.
-
Congrats! Still a very nice bull
-
Congrats to you on a very fine bull... :brew:
-
Nice bull sir and he wasnt broke up thats awesome
-
That is a helluva consolation prize - nice work man!
-
Ya that is one of the down falls of that hunt, there are alot of broken bulls. We did see one bull that was a 370+ on one side and just a stub on the other. Most bulls we saw were missing points.
-
awesome. i am thinking of applying for a late rifle hunt next year. would you do that hunt again?
-
Nice bull. Congrats. Good hunting, TC66
-
Nice bull! Congrats! Was this archert, muzzy, or mod season?
-
Nothing wrong with that bull at all. Nice work.
-
Great Bull!!! Conghrats!! Was that DIY hunt or guided?
-
Ya we most definatey will be going again. After applying for 6 years a guy kinda forgets how bad the roads and start telling yourself that they weren't that bad :chuckle:
The hunt was a late season rifle tag and we went DIY, as always.
-
So if I draw this year will you point me in the right direction?
-
Absolutley. Get the tag and let me know.
-
Thanks, If I draw your the first guy i'm talking to.
-
Great bull and great hunt. I'm totally jealous. Thanks for sharing!

Thats a Nice bull...and THAT is why they call it hunting... Many of these "holy grail" tags are not near as easy as they are made out to be !!!
