Title: samish river- winter time? steelhead? dollies? cutts? whats in the stinkditch?

well im bored.... i dont want to drive 2 hours to get to the upper skagit from anacortes.... i fished the hell out of the samish this summer, and i found all the holes..... i was up on stevens pass today and my dads buddy brought home a nice steelhead.... ive seen a few in there before and ive heard of sea runs and what not.... its close by and i splurged on flies this summer... might as well put everything to use.... anybody ever fish the samish in the winter? any advice? i havent even had the chance to check the regs since i came up with this idea.... anyway just thoght id get some :twocents:

I don't know if it's still open or not but I used to catch a lot of sea-run cutthroat out of the Samish. Night-crawlers or flies next to brushy banks were the ticket.

Last I heard the samish is closed to all fishing to protect the native steelhead
