so are they going hunting or to hd hotspurs ?

Or Bremerton!
Just got a call, my buddy got a big old cow in the Coweeman today. He said that the elk were absolutely everywhere and so were trucks full of dudes.

We must have been scouting in the wrong place. We only saw one herd and they were in someone's field. Only saw one hunter, but we ran into him 3 times. Poor guy hadn't even read his packet, didn't have his tag with him, wanted to know how to attach his permit to a cow, and his two hunting buddies had the brown bottle flue and didn't show up.

Day 1 is done. :(. 7 5x5 or better bulls and 4 cows seen. had 4 of the bulls at 40yds but the cows are spooky. back at it today and will put up some pics of the bulls tonight.

Cool! sounds like you are on them!

day 2 is done. same 7 bulls in the same field. 1 group of 12 cows busted us but another group of 4 didn't even know we were there. lead cow comes in through the trees, stops broadside at 75 yards right in a perfect shooting lane. I get my rest on a stump, line up and squeeze the trigger. :IBCOOL: What happens? POP, the cap blows but not the powder :bash: :bash: :bash: re-cap but they are gone. got up to the road and fired off at a tree. BANG! turns out I have 2 different tins of caps. both are CCI musket caps, both purchased from wholesale sports. one says in tiny letters " For Renactment use". They have almost no pop whatsoever. Oh well, tomorrow is coming and we know where they live.

Man that sucks! I have seen those caps :chuckle: always thought it was crazy to put them next to the "real caps" :chuckle: stick with it and hope you get one.

We were up today... We were in the same area as you Ken... There were 2 nice 6 points in that group.
We came around one corner today and there was a dude in a white F-150 dropping a deuce right next to the road. When you drove by you could see it a foot from the tracks... Some peoples kids.

what are you driving? The field that has the bulls in it is private property but some of the folks down here do not seem to know that. It isn't marked real well but it is marked and the owner just lives a half mile away and does respond to any gunshot he hears, and he hears alot. He says that by the end of January he will have 20+ bull living in the field.

Day 3 is over. got into the same 16 cows as yesterday. the ground is so frozen that you can't walk without CRUNCH,CRUNCH,CRUNCH. :bash
snuck up to within 75 yards of the elk, got into position, only to find that it is the frickin' bulls again. :bash: I am tired of sneaking up on this group of animals.
