Hey guys new to the forum and WA state Hunting, all my hunting has been done in Kansas up to this point. Im hunting with a buddy who is from texas where he did all his hunting and between the two of us we should be able to clean up nice but thats not the case. We sure havnt found the honey holes yet we have been from pac state forest up in elbe to capitol forest and some places around my House out in ROY. WE are using calls that have brought in yotes at home and calling times that have put good numbers for us just not here. We are Usually starting around Lunch time and calling till around 4 430 we are just going with what worked for us in the past. Im just wondering if anyone can help me out here been out 7 or 8 times and havnt even seen a dang dog :>:(. Whats the best time to start calling around here and some general areas that people have been or go would be nice... O and IM calling with a night and Hale cotton tail and my buddy has a few calls he is using. Thanks in advance guys

You need to go early! Texas and kansas are way different then on the wet side. Try a decoy to help lure them in out of cover.

Don't use a bunny call unless you know you've got bunnies in the area. Howler, wounded pup? Use a siren as a locator?
Where you don't encounter Yotes this time of year, you may in spring or summer. They're pretty smart to not kill all the food, so they move dens and to different hunting ground.

theres a ton of feed here for the odor hounds. And the cold don't last long.So it is harder to bring them in,especially close. But they do come in.Get out early and away from the roads :twocents:

:) ) 0 dark thirty in the morning. forget rabbits. this time of year, puppy whines, puppy distress or howling(be sure you know how to howl)!!
Go to bird sounds also. in tight cover call quiet for a while, then go loud. I assume good camo and not moving. good luck! DO NOT MISS

Kansas & Texas vs. Western WA... Apples/Oranges... Night/Day... Black/White... They're like a different animal here!

WWPHA (Western WA. predator hunters assoc.) is putting on a seminar by Jerry Malbeck at Cabelas, Noon 1/8/11 in a meeting by the Deli. I am not sure of cost if any. Jerry is a Foxpro factory rep. and a long time Washington coyote hunter. I intend to be there.
