Title: Remington R25, Worth the Money?
Post by: Everett on January 06, 2011, 04:40:49 PM
I'm looking into buying a new deer rifle.  I usually just go with a standard 30.06, but I got looking around and found a Remington R25, in I think, 7mm.  Its right around $1300, and I like the style, but I was just curious if anyone is using that model as their big game rifle.

more than likely it's 7-08 caliber, which is a fine all-around big game caliber.  shop around and you can get partizan ammunition for it for around $14 a box for 20.

if you're into the AR thing i don't think you could go wrong.

I have one in 7mm-08 and my cuzz bought one in 308. great guns. The trigger is the only thing that could be a little better. Mine shoots great. I have some handload info, if you get one and are intrested in reloading for it. 100% worth the money is my  :twocents: If you have any more questions i would be happy to help. They are also a not a light weight gun  :chuckle:

Yeah i have thought about it. But the gun shoots so dang good for me. I could see doing it, if my groups were poor. But i like to follow the old saying, if its not broke don't fix it :chuckle: But i might still play with it one of these days.

Thanks you guys for all the response.  It sounds like the R25 is all around a good gun.  Is the trigger a little stiff or something?

You could also look at the R-15.  It comes in 450 Bushmaster and 30 RAR.

Its not a 2 stage trigger like most ar-platforms. Its a single stage trigger and i think the factory settings are like around 5 pounds "if i remember right" mine breaks at around 4.5lbs. So it is a little stiff, i like around 3-3.5 myself.
