Title: 270WSM handload info
Post by: Clark33 on January 14, 2011, 03:47:58 PM
Just curious as to your load recipes and what muzzle velocities you are seeing.  I don't have the gun yet but am already looking for ideas on loading.  I was thinking 140grain Accubonds.  Which powders do you find to work the best?

The load that I worked up to, which is close to max, is as follows.

Fed. Mag primer, 63.5gr of RL 17, 140gr. accubond, chronoed at 3330fps.

That is out of a model 700, it shoots better than I ever could of dreamed.
Remember it is close to max so work to it.

I'm using winchester brass for the time being. As for pressure signs, nothing to drastic, maybe a little swelling. :chuckle:
