I bought a trip from a non profit banquet for a snow goose hunt. My stepson had been wanting to go for some time and I knew nothing about it but told him we would learn together. We have been out in my boat a few times and did some pass shooting but not very good at it.
Sunday we got out to the area with the guys that donated the hunt and they had put out 1000 snow decoys. The morning started slow and the snows kept flaring before getting to the dekes, I am sure this late in the season they have seen a bunch of dekes. We did manage to bang a double that came right into our spread and we dropped them both, knocked one down dead and the dog ran the other one down. We were ecstatic and he had finally gotten his birthday present goose. We did take pics but they are on a film camera and we have to get the film developed.
I cannot thank the guys enough as they really worked hard and wanted us to get into the birds as much as we did. They went to great measure to ensure that we had a great time and we will remember that day for the rest of our lives.
Thanks Drew, Brian and Derick you really went all out for us.
