Every year try and head or to Mt and hit the salmon fly hatch at Rock Creek in June. Then head up to Glacier and fish the Black Feet Rez lakes for trout.
Here are a few pics from trip from June 2010.

Here's a few from the Rock from one of my trips. Man I love that place.

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs.
I am haunted by these waters.

I would love to be able to go over there and fish someday
-
Some pics of fishing the BF Rez. There are some BIG trout up there
-
A few more fishing and the area. GNP and the surrounding area is a true true jewel in America if not the world

Oh, now you've done it Ribka and Jackelope.
My Dad was born and raised in Missoula. Since I was 6 through 18 we always spent 2 weeks of summer vacation fly fishing the middle stretches of Rock Creek. Home was the Bitterroot Flats campground. One of my favoite stretches of the creek is right there at the south end of the campground. Couldn't hook a fish all day in there until the last 45 minutes of daylite when the evening hatch began. Then it was hang on time. I caught my biggest 'bow in the creek in that stretch. 29" and was pure heaven to set her free.
I should dredge up some old pics and scan from back in the day when catching a 100 12-20" fish a day in the 70's was the norm with the occasional one that would top 24".
My parents now live on lower Rock Creek, retired. The salmon fly hatch and an early August trip to try and nail the spruce moth hatch is an every year event.
Oh ,the childhood memories!!!
