I took my Girlfriend of seven years up chinook pass for lunch today. It is her birthday and I wanted to do something special for her. I have known how I was going to propose for a few years now and today seamed like a great day to do it. My good buddy took the antler (with ring taped on it) up and placed it in a pre-determined spot. I then took a detour while on our way to lunch and took the GF for a hike. She found the antler and I proposed to her. She even said yes. lol Heres some pictures of the moment

He was only about 20 minutes ahead of me. And as for the one less hunter saying. We have been together for 7 years and every year I hunt more and more. Also I taped the ring on the antler so that it would not fall off.

congrats to both of you.

Nice job. Did something similar but during a backcountry fishing trip. Action was slow so I told her I was going to change her set-up. Had her swing her pole to me, tied the ring on, held on for dear life, and then showed it to her asking if she thought "it" would catch anything. That was 17 years ago and still married.
-
Congrats I prpose a little different but I used the same ring LOL.
-
Finally. I bet the little monster found the horn before Nicole did.
-
Very creative, I bet she loved it!

That's funny you say that because that is exactly what happened. Cheyanne said "I found a horn mom I found a horn" and then Nichole looked over and seen it.
Shes only 2 years old, I think shes gonna be a great shed hunting partner. On Jan 7th 2011 I took her with me to go glass for some deer and we walked about 75 yards from the truck and were about to sit under a tree. The tree that we walked to had a fresh little 3pt shed laying under it. I will post pics of the shed later tonight.

A little adivse.. wait 3 years and then do something just as cool. 2 years after that somthing even cooler. 3 years top that. And so on. Just keep letting her know what the ring on the horn was all about and you two set. Too original..
