What do you want to do with the pictures?  What type of quality are you expecting?

What is your experience with cameras and what is your budget for a camera kit? Do you want a new camera or a used one?

Buying Cameras is kind of like buying cars Ford vs. Chevy vs. Dodge etc.

Live (moving) deer, or for post-hunt shots? Big difference, if it is a live target, you would want some type of vibration reduction-capable lens, mounted on a DSLR. Most DSLR brands offer some type of VR lens. If it's post-hunt shooting, there are limitless options for pack-camera's.
