I do a little recreational gold prospecting in Wa. and was wondering if anybody knows of rivers or streams in Wa. that have produced gold?

When I was a kid my dad and I would go down to the Green. Just below the bridge between Enumclaw and Blackdiamond. Not gonna make any money off of the amounts we would get, but it was fun.

We use to get some real fine stuff out of the San Poil and a few other streams around Republic.  One of my old hunting buddies took a couple of days off from hunting and panned up enough to pay for his trip.  That was many years ago though and he worked his butt off for it.

Is there any specific county you want to know about ? I have books that tell about gold in each county of washington and specific creeks and places even some old ghost towns. Just let me know and i can give you some info.

Not really looking for specific river or streams just in Wa. I live in Cowlitz county and I am getting small fines from the Cowlitz river.

Thanks. Wa. rules and regs aren't so bad. You can go online to print the permit but you are right about certain times. Some creeks and river only open a few weeks a year.

It doesn't say that much good information.... Just and old ghost town and a few mile before it is the Silverton Copper ghost town. I would like to go to Monte Crisco and go swinging a metal detector though.

I belong to WPMA. They have Claims in WA.,Or. And N.Cal. They have a Gold Show coming up at Monroe Feb. 26-27,Also Gpaa.show in Puyallup in March.. I have got gold on the Bekler out of Sky.I have also got Gold on the S.F. Nutsack. You can pan or sluice anywhere year round or minihighbanker less than 3sq feet,12volt pump year round. Had trips planned for last summer but the wife was sick. Had to stay close to home. Then late Aug. I had a small stroke. found I had throat cancer and that took me out of anything all fall and winter. Have sluice's and pans. Plan on buying a Highbanker at the show.

Once upon a time in Peirce County, a friend an I were fishing a small stream and heard quite a commotion comming from downstream of us...
upon further investigation we met 2 guys shoveling sand and gravel into a sluicebox, said they would get about $80 a weekend out of there (and this was when gold was under $400 an ounce)
I wont tell you what stream, but will say it flows into a popular fishing lake, although only a few actually know about the stream, as only near the lake is accessable w/o a special permit... ;).
