Title: Eagle cap wilderness bull more pics

 :P Just a pic of my 09 bull from the eagle caps in oregon. Have killed five bulls in this little honey hole. All with bow... :rolleyes: Gotta love those horses! cow was the first elk i killed in orgeon. back then you could kill cows with bow now it is bull only.

Yeah wilderness elk hunting would be almost impossible without the horses.  But they can be a PAIN to.  Hey that would make an entertaining thread.  Lets hear some horse/mule/packing/hunting stories.  I wish I didnt have to leave one of mine on the mountain last fall. :(

If I was you daydreamn i would have boned and quarterd the horse. :chuckle:

Nah.  The other pack horse was already full of deer quarters and I had to pack my rifle.  Guess I coulda had my wife pack him out :rolleyes: except she was about Five months pregnant then.

cool country. A friend of mine packed in there this sept. He killed a decent 6 pt. Sounds like a blast if you can stay away from the people. You don't happen to run cattle in the NE corner by chance?  :dunno:

yeah we go every year. Been doing it six years now. My buddy has been going four more than that. Its my therapy, but tag prices have gotten out of hand. Takes saving all year just to get elk and deer tag.hh :'(
