I have been considering having a long bow built for awhile now. I am getting a little more serious now. I shoot two diffrent recurves and like them both a lot. I have also had the chance to shoot more then a few long bows. I have been looking around for awhile and really like the looks of the "life ender" by lost creek. I was wondering if anyone has had a chance to shoot there bows. Or if anyone might own one. Any feedback would be great. Thanks

Looks like a shooter to me... there are a TON of good bows out there... that is for sure!
This one looks kinda like Ron LaClaire's "Shrew"....

Looks nice but I have never shot nor heard of them so I can not offer any advice about their bows. Have you ever considered saving your money and building your own? It is really pretty simple with a few carpenters tools and and educational DVD, or even using youtube. I have built about 5 of my own all different styles.

I have a friend that has his own trad shop. He has offered, and I have helped with a few bows. But I like to leave some stuff to the pro's. :chuckle: His classes are only like 350.00 so its pretty cheap. I have considered it but would like to have a pro make mine.

Curious who is your friend. I may know him.

Yep looks like a "shrew" . Shot one for many years.
Here's my :twocents: Unless you know the bowyer and he has been in business many years would not order a bow from him. Hear of a lot of horror stories. Go on STICK.COm and ask about this Bowyer. Good guys on there.
If I were you I would order a Martin long bow from Martin up in Yakima on 40 th Ave. You can go to the factory there and have them make you a semi-custom bow. Ask for Fred. They make really nice bows. I have a lot of custom bows and think Martin shoots just as well if not better.
I think the nicest trad bow out there are being made by Border bows in Scotland.

I was on there checking them out as well I like that ossabaw as well  That one is another one I am looking at. After we talked about them I had to look into them. I love that figured cherry he does on the limbs  Go to his web page Ray and click on the riser photos. I already got that one picked out if I went with him. The very first pic on that page with the figured cherry limbs!
Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now those are some sweet bows  That voodoo stik is sweeeeeeeeeet!
Since I am more of a recurve guy right now ;) What do you guys think for a bow length? I am thinking 60"ish
-
Oh I thought you were considering a longbow. Well I like a 60-64 inch recurve with the 50's style handle.
I've looked at those Bob Lee recurves, Striker recurves, and I saw this guy makes a good looking recurve too - http://www.whippenstick.com/ws/if_index.html (http://www.whippenstick.com/ws/if_index.html)
I have a Thunderbird recurve and it's the only recurve I need. Silent, swift, simple.

JD makes some darn good looking bows. I still have 2 of his, 1 is a 50# mojostick 60" recurve and the other JD made for me about 2 years ago, a 57# 64" Voodoostik longbow... its a pretty bow too.

While you are looking, don't forget to check out Kirk Lavendar's bows at www.Bigfootbows.com (http://www.Bigfootbows.com)

I am leaning more towards the long bow, over another recurve. I have some good recurves already. You go to shoot one of them :chuckle:
Thanks for all the help and choices
