Just wanted to show everyone what I bought today. It's a Remington 700 XCR, chambered in 300 WSM with a custom B&C stock. I'm stoked!!! :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:

Good looking rifle, what glass are you going to use?
-
Good looking gun. What do you plan on putting on it for a scope and rings?
-
Planning on putting a Leupold VX3 6.5-20 x 50 Long Range scope with the elevation turrets. Should be a tack driver (as long as I don't suck on the trigger). Trigger is set to 3 lbs. I can't wait to get it all together.

very nice rifle.

I like the black w/ grey web B&C stock. I just ordered that color in the Medalist model for my SS Win M70. I hope mine turns out as nice.

Nice rifle.
I'm kind of curious why you'd put a 6.5-20x50 on it.

I'm legally blind.....
HAHA, just kidding. I am really going to try to do my best to make this a longer range gun that I can shoot long distances with. With that being said, I will enjoy having the extra glass as well as the elevation turrets. Just preference I guess. I shot an antelope in MT at 335 yards with a 14 power scope and wished I had a little more glass. :chuckle:

Great glass I have that scope on my browning a bolt 7mm mag and love it! I have taken yotes out to 617yds. You would've had a hard time seeing them in a 9x :chuckle: Nice gun, on a side note my 3 year old always says "BOOM goes the dynamite!!!"

Its one of those age old arguments. A lot of people think 3-9 on everthing. Well I can tell you where we hunt I have never one time felt like I had to much magnification. I always find myself wanting more. The minimum, I will put on a rifle is 4.5-14 but prefer the 6.5-20 or the 8.5-25. The nice thing about the 6.5-20 is you can still get it in a 1" tube. Everything else is 30mm from there up. I am sure he will love that scope on it.
