anybody have one of these?
http://www.savagearms.com/93r17fvss.htm
i am thinking about getting one. looks like a cool little rig. the one i am looking at is a pre-accutrigger piece.
-
Al had one till my dad got it from him. I have the same one with accu trigger and wood stock. Shoots great.

My buddy has the sporter/blued version in a synthetic stock...WITH accutrigger. I've had a couple one Savage that were pre-accutrigger.
Good shooting little rifles, and pretty well made.
I'm partial to marlin, personally, but they both do well and comparable in the accuracy department.
If you like LIGHT triggers, find an accu-trigger model...adjustable and VERY simple to get below 2lbs (safely!). There are parts available for the non-accutrigger models as well, though.
It seems many savage HMR's tend to prefer the 20gr offering in the HMR...not sure if that's a good or bad thing for your intended use.

I have one although it is not SS. I love this little rifle. Very accurate and fun to shoot. I have really been pleased with it along with the .17HMR cartridge.

Just got a 17 actually, but from shooting them in the past you will not be sorry you got it...ammo is a little much to just go out and plink around......but they are very accurate and fun....
here is a picture of my new 17HMR........Thanks to Popeshawnpaul who picked it up for me in eastern washington has it.....all i got to do is pick it up...

I also have the savage it's a great little rifle very accurate one thing I do recommend is that you go with the ballistic tipped rounds they don't like to feed the cheaper hollowpoints. I found out the hard way the .17 HMR is a little light for yotes even at close range they just yelp and run off. Great fun on whistle pigs though.

well...i appreciate all the responses but it looks like the deal i was working fell through...if anybody has one they want to part with...let me know.
