Heading over to fish this with a friend of mine next friday.
Any reports?
We are going to either fish the Hoh or the Sol Duc.
What is your guys take on this.

I think it has been a pretty slow season up there this year. Ive generally had good luck this time of the year, but haven't made it up yet this year. Hopefully soon. I'll probably hit the Queets the last week before it closes. Let us know how you do.

From what I've been hearing the Hoh is doing fine. The water flow has been good, but the visibility can go down quick. Right now it is supposedly okay. Snow is low in the hills with cold and clear in the forecast. On Wednesday there was a fuel truck that overturned over by Lower Hoh Rd and spilled a few thousand gallons of diesel into a creek that feeds the Hoh. There might still be clean up crews and samplers hanging around that part of the river, but I'd guess they'll be gone before you get there.
Word is that Sol Duc is the big producer this year. Supposedly lots of steel (quite a few in the 16-18 lb range reported) in there now. Not sure where on the river exactly they are thick, but from the hatchery to Shuwah has a few holes worth putting bets with Vegas odds on.
I'll probably get out and check the rivers after hunting season, but have been seeing quite a few driftboats headed out that way on weekends.
