Hello, it's been so long since I've fly fished and I would like to get back into it. I have no idea where to go for just an after work or sunday morning trip. I live in Snohomish county. Are there any good places to go near by and if so what are they biting on??? Thank you

Pass lake near deception pass.......it is fly fishing only and there are some brutes in there including rainbows and browns......no motors of any kind allowed including electrics but pontoon boats , float tubes or anything that can be rowed is acceptable...........

I would second the WashingtonFlyFishing site.
There is also gamefishing.com but many smarta$$'s who are on line a lot and do not fish much but they have the most to say.
Piscatorial Pursuits lots of very knowledgeable people but they do not like to share locations.

In Sno County there seem to be a lot more lakes than streams. You can troll around Flowing, Chain, Storm, in the spring with the standard flies and pick up planters. In the summer there are more perch around in some of the lakes along with bass. When the pinks show up in Sept. then it is a slam dunk to hit either the Snohomish or Skagit for non stop action. Strip a pink fly with a floating line.

Rocky Ford (a Spring Creek) near Ephrata is a go to for fly fishing in WA. Recommend a 3 or 4 WT rod and fine leaders.

Fly fishing in Western WA this time of year is tough unless you have a small boat or a float tube or something. There are quite a few year around lakes to fish and they will be getting planted here in the next few weeks. Those are your best bet. Most of the streams are closed and won't open until the first week of June. Even then the opportunities aren't that great. The upper part of the Snoqualmie (South, North and Middle Forks) offer decent fly fishing for rainbows and cutthroat. I believe the Middle Fork is open year around. Most of the rivers in this area also get a few Sea-run Cutthroat in the late summer and fall, those can be lots of fun on a fly rod. Your best bet for finding quality locations is to check out some of the local fly shops. Avid Angler (Lake Forest Park), Pacific Fly Fishers (Mill Creek) or Creekside (Issaquah) are all great shops with great local knowledge.

I forgot about the snoqualamie. I took my son up there several years ago. I remember that it was hot on that day. He had a lot of fun and caught fish on a dry all by himself.

Pass Lake sucks, few fish and it can be very crowded. I would recomend keep trucking past Pass Lake and try Lone Lake on Whidbey Island. Big fish and uncrowded.

Pass Lake will reward those who put some time into it. At times there is even excellent dry fly action. Bows, Cutthroats and Browns are on tap.
